With Shell Energy, you get 100% renewable electricity as standard, and cleaner energy supply options and solutions that support your Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda and boost your sustainability credentials.

Our renewable energy is backed by UK-certified renewable certificates of origin, which means that all of the electricity and any green gas you buy from us is matched with the equivalent amount of units from 100% renewable sources. See our FAQs for more info.

We evidence our renewable energy via the following schemes:

  • Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin Scheme (REGO)
  • Green Gas Certification Scheme (GGCS)
  • Guarantees of Origins Scheme (GoOs).

All our electricity comes from renewable sources such as wind, solar and biomass.

About our fuel mix disclosure

Ofgem requires UK energy suppliers to disclose the mix of fuels they use to generate the electricity they supply to customers each year via the Fuel Mix Disclosure (FMD). The FMD is reported retrospectively. Our Fuel Mix Disclosure (FMD) represents the period between 1 April 2019 and 31 March 2020.

We keep the figures on this page updated in line with the publishing dates of the Government's fuel mix data disclosure data table, as defined in the Electricity (Fuel Mix Disclosure) Regulations 2005.
